Beauty should feel like you.

I grew up in a home where there was always room for one more person at the table.

Our door was open to friends, neighbors, and people from all different backgrounds and walks of life. I learned early that you didn’t have to come from the same place, look the same, or live the same kind of life to feel at home with one another.

My mom was also a “whole foods mom” long before it was cool. She taught me to think about what we put into our bodies, where things came from, and how the choices we make every day can affect how we feel.

I didn’t know it then, but those two parts of my childhood would eventually become the heart of Defiance Beauty.

I’ve always been fascinated by people, what makes us different, what makes us feel like ourselves, and what somehow connects us despite all of it. That curiosity has followed me through everything I’ve done, from becoming a professional makeup artist, to earning my MBA in Marketing, to my love of studying the Enneagram and understanding the different ways we move through the world.

And through all of it, I kept coming back to women.

As a makeup artist, I’ve had the privilege of sitting face-to-face with so many of them. Different ages. Different skin tones. Different cultures, stories, insecurities, personalities, and definitions of beauty.

And beneath all of those differences, I kept seeing the same thing:

We all want to feel seen.

Not changed. Not covered up. Not told who we should be.

Seen.

I created Defiance Beauty because I wanted beauty to feel less like a standard women are constantly trying to reach and more like a place where we could find ourselves, and, maybe, find one another too.

Our products bring clean ingredients, skincare and high-performance color together because I believe what we put on our bodies matters. But Defiance has never been only about what’s inside a lipstick or an eyeliner.

It’s about what happens when a woman puts it on and still recognizes the woman looking back at her.

It’s about making beauty feel free again. Easy. Light. Fun. Human.

And it’s about creating the kind of space I grew up in, one where the door is open, differences are welcomed, and there is always room for one more woman at the table.

Because there is no one way to be beautiful.

There is only you.
